Imprisoned

I never thought this would happen one day
I didn't want to make my wife suffer
But the future belongs to God and I underestimated
My hand spoke, I didn't listen but now I know
I was young, I liked playing soccer
Flying kites, didn't like going to school
Pure innocence, playing in the rain
My mother would come and beat me with a belt in the street
That's how it was when I was little
Very mischievous, always running
The movement behind the court
Caught my attention
And the guys from my area
I asked what was in that small bag
My mom said it was poison
Curiosity led me closer
I got involved even knowing it wasn't right
At times like these, you can't count on anyone
Destruction is what's most common here
The first joint in my hand
Trembling, coughing, smoke going into my lungs
I'd be laughing for no reason with red eyes
My old lady went into despair when she saw
She couldn't believe that a boy so pure
Could become another customer of the drug dealer
I didn't believe it either, but it became routine
Every day a joint to get in the mood
At eighteen, I didn't want to enlist
I presented myself praying, hoping to be spared
I don't know if it's good or bad
But they granted my request
In the eyes of the police, I was just another criminal
Every night I didn't sleep at home
My mother worried, kneeling and praying
Asking God for me to arrive safely
That in the early hours
I wouldn't get involved with anyone
It was on one of those nights that I met a white lady
She didn't want me to take her to bed
The first time, I couldn't believe what I did
I took it, stretched it, snorted
This damn drug made me feel high
Cursed moment when I got involved with cocaine
High with bulging eyes
My mouth was crooked, always scared
The more I saw, the more I wanted
Cocaine, my daily companion
Addicted, had to support myself
Full of malice, didn't want to work
When the high passed, I was at my worst
I got involved with a guy named Beto
Who became my powder partner
The joint was like a glass of water
It didn't have an effect anymore, without the powder I lost control
I argued with my mother, hit my girl
I was nervous, there was no cocaine
At eight in the evening, Beto came to my house
With two guns for us to do something
A stash that was on the radar
There was only a damn dog
And a rich old lady
We went down to the favela, each with a gun
Straight to the asphalt, I was nervous, Beto wasn't
We arrived at the spot, a quiet street
I took the poisoned meat out of the bag
Threw it to the dog, who devoured it
A minute later, he was already out of it
He left the way clear for us to invade
I couldn't wait to get out of there
We entered the stash, the old lady was scared
I was trembling with the gun right in her face
I warned her to stay quiet, that nothing would happen
Beto, desperate, cleaning the house
The lady tied up in a chair
I was a criminal, a tremendous Thursday
Jewelry, money, what I could bring
Back to the hill to divide is what we'll do
Barely divided the money, straight to the dealer
I was high, sniffed all night
I was thin, worn out, sunken eyes
Beard to shave, feeling dirty
Even the tone of my mother's voice bothered me
Any noise I heard would scare me
I lost my composure wanting cocaine
I sniffed even the video that I gave to my girl
In the midst of darkness, a light appeared
The girl was expecting my child
In a while, this kid will be born
What will he be when he grows up
Frequenting parties, enjoying funk dances
Sniffing all night like a nose full of blood
That's not what I want for my son
But how can I demand if I also went off the rails
Weed, revolver, alcohol, cocaine
Nowadays, they are part of my life, my fate
The terror of a racist society
I am the very image of the dentist's chair
Soon I'll meet Beto
We'll plan something, take some hits
The money ran out, malice showed up
I remembered that robbery that hadn't been forgotten
Once again, heading to the asphalt
The first one to brandish iron in the face, hands up
Right away, stopped at the traffic light
Rich kid with a Kawasaki, ninja, ponytail, and all
Cell phone, gold necklace
Approach, frame, and leave the boy bone
I looked at Beto, grabbed the gun
I was confident, the other robbery had been successful
Beto approached, framed, put him on the ground
I stayed behind, just containing
A blow to the head, the boy fell down
Beto was already on the bike, ready to leave
But in the excitement, nobody searched the guy
Who reached out, grabbed a silver PT
Pointed it at Beto's back
The guy was a cop and the light was already green
Several shots in my direction
The cops, I trembled, didn't use my gun
Took a shot in the leg and another in the belly
I threw the gun on the ground to save my life
Treated like an animal, shot
Kicked in the ribs, my partner was all shot up
He was tortured, they spat in my face
I lost my gun and they beat me up
The prison is now my home
In here, my life is worth nothing
The monotony here irritates me
Every now and then, the white lady visits me
Along with my woman and my mother
Who, when she arrives, can't help but cry
I'm already dead, just not buried
I have no future, it's all over
I ended up in prison, started with a joint
Lost my freedom, now I'm imprisoned
