Sueña

Dream
I started with nothing at all
Just like the monkey that shows up in the morning
Like the fake one who hugs you when fame comes calling
They get hooked on the movies and the social media
They don’t care what others think if they’ve got power and women
But they lack the drive to help out their family
To want to move forward, to steer clear of envy
Not long ago, I lost a sister and one thing she asked
That her kids grow up right
And I swore I’d make it last
With the world against me, I did it
Lost in my teens
I bumped into the real ones and saw how many curse me
Now they want a piece of what I’ve earned when I got strong
And I got even stronger
From the streets with values where rumors fly
In the house, you lose it all, and you’re out of options, right?
Tomorrow keep pushing for your kids and your pride
Don’t stop getting up, dream big, and take on your life
I learned from the stumbles
Watching how I start
Close friends who end up just bones and scars
In a world of bullets, of gangs, and of cash
Where they live in the movie of fools and the dumb
Forget that
Forget about today, think about tomorrow
That your kids have a home
And that mom’s never in sorrow
Let the blessings rain down
Help your close ones out
Those are the ones who’ll be there
When you lose and have no clout
I still remember when the world was crashing down
How much I gave to keep them up off the ground
You know how hard I’ve fought
Look at what I’ve got
What’s necessary
The example from the block
If it’s possible, I swear I’ll become legendary
I made a promise, and a wise one answered me
Don’t give up, fight son, you’re gonna be extraordinary
Forget that
The depressions, the fears, the setbacks
Keep going even if it’s tough, that’s part of the progress
Or the process
On the dark path, God guides me, I pray for you.
