Benedictus
Caminho Neocatecumenal
Blessed
Blessed be the Lord
God of Israel
For he has visited and redeemed his people
Raising up a mighty salvation
In the house of David, his servant
As he promised
Through his holy prophets' mouths
It is the salvation that sets us free
From our enemies
And from the hand of all who hate us
Thus fulfilling
The mercy he showed
To our ancestors,
Remembering his holy covenant,
The oath he swore
To our father Abraham,
To grant us that, fearlessly,
Rescued from the hands of our enemies,
We may serve him in holiness and righteousness
In his presence all our days
Blessed be the Lord
God of Israel
For he has visited and redeemed his people
Raising up a mighty salvation
In the house of David, his servant
And you, child
Shall be called the prophet of the Most High.
For you will go before the Lord
To prepare his ways,
Announcing to his people salvation
Through the forgiveness of sins.
Through the tender mercy
Of our God,
The dawn from on high will visit us
To shine on those who sit in darkness
And in the shadow of death
To guide our feet
On the path of peace
Blessed be the Lord
God of Israel
For he has visited and redeemed his people
Raising up a mighty salvation
In the house of David, his servant
