Psalm 137 - On That Day When I Cried Out
On that day when I cried out, you listened to me, O Lord!
On that day when I cried out, you listened to me!
O Lord, from my heart, I give you thanks, because you heard the words of my lips!
Before your angels I will sing to you and before your temple I will prostrate myself
I thank you for your love, your truth, because you have done much more than you promised
On that day when I cried out, you listened to me and increased the strength of my soul
The Lord is most high, yet he looks upon the poor, and from afar recognizes the proud
If I walk in the midst of misfortune, you make me return to life again
When my persecutors attack me and come against me with anger
You will stretch out your arm to help me and you will save me with your right hand
Complete in me the work begun; O Lord, your goodness is forever!
I ask you: Do not leave unfinished this work that your hands have made!
