El Purgatorio

Purgatory
It is not well known what we do here
Supposed to pay for something bad
There are rumors of hells
With fire and ice, and a garden in heaven
We speak to you from purgatory
Any resemblance to reality is obvious
It is said that we are here because in lives
Past we condoned hatred
That one stole, that one killed, that one raped
That one cheated and I as vile as anyone
Deep down our soul is good
But we did a couple of things for which they burn
We suspect that if we amend it
We will opt for a new life
But the voice persists, they are taking me to that
For what they could send me to an abyss without return
I have a tough personal battle
That is fought far beyond good and evil
It is not well known what may await me
But I could shoot in self-defense
That one was a judge, that one was a policeman, that one was a banker
That one was a cleric, that doctor, that engineer
Although every step in the mud is for something
No one better than us can help us
That's why I dance to the tune that the gods
Or devils, put to pull
I speak in metaphors
Because the drink of reality is bitter
However, I still keep
The forbidden apple fallen from the tree
The souls, in purgatory
Do not feel love, nor resentment, nor hatred
They wander aimlessly
They are the souls in purgatory
Souls walk with judgments without trial they condemn
Sentences tied to eternity they would like
Redemption to appear, to be revived
But they pay for sins they don't even remember
In the middle of a shootout I end up like a sieve
The prettiest girl in the school in a rage
The father went for the damage they did to her
Imagining he would win but they lost
He was neither a bad nor a good person
In just one second his life was measured
A second later, a bullet impact
In the skull, no longer repeated
He descended to the underworld sure of his destiny
In the book there it was not written
He doesn't even know when it happened, he forgot
Because time is eternal, memory erased
He died without hope, no one saw him, he walked
There are many spirits he felt by his side
People who in life were good to their neighbors
But not enough in the eyes of God
He arrived seeking absolution for the sins he committed
And what he found was punishment for damnation
Bureaucrats, psychopaths, and a dictator
Automatons, astronauts, more than one pastor
Wandering the paths of damnation
Of the seven sins none have salvation
Celestial angels show the clamor
Of those who fell without the redeemer's forgiveness
While on earth terror continues to reign
In this plan of spirits where the dead rest
Waiting for candles to be lit, to illuminate him with love
In the midst of so much darkness that accompanies him, now that he is gone
The souls, in purgatory
Do not feel love, nor resentment, nor hatred
They wander aimlessly
They are the souls in purgatory
