The Great Friend
In Jesus we have a friend, closer than a brother
He commands us to bring everything to God in prayer!
Oh, the peace we always lose
Oh, the pain in the heart
Just because we don't bring everything to God in prayer!
We have struggles and sorrows and temptations in life
We are not left without comfort, going to Christ in prayer
Will there be another friend with such great compassion?
The contrite Jesus Christ always answers in prayer
And if we faint, Christ reaches out his hand to us
For He is always our strength and refuge in prayer
If this world despises us, Christ is ours in prayer
He welcomes us in His arms and gives us consolation
