Um Grande Amigo

I found a great friend
Jesus, the Savior
Who with love guards me every day
Faithful is His care
Constant is His love
And limitless is His sympathy

And even more remarkable
Is that He died for me
And atoned for all my sins
So I rejoice
In the blessings He has given me
Yes, I know that Jesus Christ saved me

Jesus is my friend
My guide, my Lord
My protector, like no other
He suffered death for me
For me, a sinner
And now, alive, He guards me from evil

For this great friend
I desire to live here
To have constant communion with Him
To serve Him faithfully
And thus give Him pleasure
Always remaining subject to Him

In His holy ways
I hope to follow here
And show His love to all
Because He came to redeem me from sin
And died in my place out of love

The time is coming
The Bible tells us
When Jesus will return to the world
Oh, what a joyful moment
What a happy day
The day He returns will be here!

I will see His beloved face in glory
And enjoy the blessings of the Lord
