Lost
Far away from God I walked,
A poor lost soul was I;
I thought it was impossible
To enter my soul into heaven.
I wandered so errant in the darkness,
Not a ray of light came to me,
And sad, tired my soul,
I saw no forgiveness for me.
Being in the midst of darkness,
Very clear a voice I heard,
Telling me: 'I am powerful
To give salvation to you today.'
I stopped; it was the voice of my Master,
Speaking words of love;
I cried out: 'I am a poor lost soul;
Oh, have compassion, Savior!'
Then I surrendered to my Master;
Happy Jesus Christ made me.
To all I proclaim:
It was He who satisfied me.
And when, by the grace of Christ,
I reach heaven at last,
I will give praises forever
To the One who gave me eternal life.
