Hurry, come, friend,
For it is already late;
At the prepared wedding feast
There is a place for everyone.
Perhaps you, delaying,
The bridegroom will arrive,
And when you knock then
You will not be able to enter.

Then with what sadness,
Oh soul, you will cry,
Hearing the voice of Christ:
It is too late to enter.

If only you wake up
At the coming of Jesus,
You will not have entry,
For lacking the light.
Oh, consider the sorrow
That you will have then!
The door already closed
And you knocking in vain!

Prepare yourself, oh friend,
For the coming of the Lord,
If you are a believer,
You will have his favor;
In heaven, then, singing,
You will surely enter;
But if you are careless
You will not reach there.
