Oração Para a Noite

This day that my father gave me ends
Evening shadows already cover the sky
O blessed Jesus, if you are with me
I do not fear the night, I will sleep in peace

With my sins I have saddened you
But I ask for forgiveness out of love for you
I am human and weak, deliver me from evil
And in peace I have real sleep and peace

Guard the sailor in the violent sea
And comfort those who suffer pains
To the tempted, extend your hand, Lord
Send your comforter to the sad and afflicted

For parents and friends, for the holy law
For divine love, I will give thanks
O Jesus, accept my petition
And I sleep soundly without disturbance
