El Amor Es Una Farsa
Carin Leon
Love is a Farce
Love is only beautiful in movies
And in the stories they tell children
Here in real life, they don't resemble
Not even a little bit
Stories don't begin with 'once upon a time'
Nor end with 'happily ever after'
I'm sorry if I'm somewhat pessimistic
But my truth surprises me
She used to say she loved me with all her might
That she couldn't live without me, and suddenly she leaves me
And goes on breathing out there
Better than ever, alive and kicking
Love is a farce, just a fantasy
Something invented by a fool who loved immeasurably
But I'm almost sure it only lasted a few days
Because like me, he felt a cold shower
Love is a farce, just a vile lie
The fool who invented it regretted it all his life
When a man with money stole his heart
From the woman he loved, the same happened to me
And now we both think
That love never existed
She used to say she loved me with all her might
That she couldn't live without me, and suddenly she leaves me
And goes on breathing out there
Better than ever, alive and kicking
Love is a farce, just a fantasy
Something invented by a fool who loved immeasurably
But I'm almost sure it only lasted a few days
Because like me, he felt a cold shower
Love is a farce, just a vile lie
The fool who invented it regretted it all his life
When a man with money stole his heart
From the woman he loved, the same happened to me
And now we both think
That love never existed
