My Humble Empire (feat. Los Tepokas)
It's hard to want to study on an empty stomach
It wasn't easy to ignore my childhood and look out for my family
I don't bring luxuries from a dealership
I struggled like a commoner for a tortilla
It wasn't easy to trade my marbles for a wheelbarrow
Though poor, but very happy, I spent my days
By the side of my mother and my old man, whom I loved so much
Life treated us roughly
They always with a smile
As my father used to say: In bad times, always hurry
And the love of the poor doesn't lie, it's always true
There's no ulterior motive, it's pure and sincere
A poor person gives themselves with their soul
And never looks at the wallet
Because for a car, they have a pair of legs and a roof of stars
I chose this path I'm on, because I didn't find another
To have everything I wanted, I didn't have another way
If as a child I didn't have school
Studying was always out of reach
I had to decide whether to study or starve
And the world wasn't made for those who can, but for those who want
Life always rewards you when it owes you
God tests you, but never strangles
You just have to be patient
And always remember that you have to be a good person
I'm not proud of what I do, although I live content
I wouldn't want my children to follow my example one day
I swear I've given my soul
To have everything I have
Even though I can't read or write, I have my humble empire
