Madonna Fiorentina
Carlo Buti
Florentine Madonna
From the flowery hills she descends
a sweet song. (Oh, oh! Oh, oh!)
Under the stars, Florence,
an arcane vision. (Oh, oh! Oh, oh!)
Its sky shines with enchantment,
the Arno river has silver reflections.
It seems to hear again the beautiful song
that blossomed in the 1300s
Wake up again Florentine Madonna,
all of Florence is a blooming veranda.
A minstrel whispers quietly
the chorus: Love, love, love!
While the mom snores,
the serenade passes by,
when it knocks on your heart,
you open your red lips for me.
Give me a kiss of love
I will go away,
flower of every flower,
my Florentine.
While thirsty mouths
kiss each other again, (Oh, oh! Oh, oh!)
kiss, the moon, the towers
and the golden domes. (Oh, oh! Oh, oh!)
It tinges the bell tower of Giotto
with violet color.
One hears at dawn the ringing,
the cricket's party, the heart's party!
Wake up again Florentine Madonna,
all of Florence is a blooming veranda.
A minstrel whispers quietly
the chorus: Love, love, love!
While the mom snores,
the serenade passes by,
when it knocks on your heart,
you open your red lips for me.
Give me a kiss of love
I will go away,
flower of every flower,
my Florentine!
