Forbidden
I know that even though your lips drive me wild
kissing them is forbidden without forgiveness.
And I know that even though you want me too,
there's someone standing between us.
Who could have predicted that true love
would hit our hearts this way;
too late, when we're out of options,
a prisoner of our mistake!
Desire brings us together
and honor pulls us apart...
and even though love isn't an excuse,
that saves us from guilt, love...
your fate is to love me,
my fate is to love you.
And fate is stronger
than prejudice, duty, and honor...
You'll walk through life in another's arms,
but your soul will be where I am...
No matter how forbidden it is
for me to hold you in my arms!
In this world, there's no force that can forbid
me from loving you...
or that this love will kill me.
It's not our fault if life, in its design,
crossed our paths as we walked.
Nor is it our fault if this love that's forbidden
has entered our souls uninvited.
We must bend and suffer together
for this bitter and more than cruel separation...
But the heart can never, even wanting to,
renounce the right to this love.
