The Forgotten Treasure

Like someone forgetting in a distant port
The enchanted chest of their beloved
Today I return to your door, heart in hand
To sing crying like a mourning dove

And I bring with me the bruised eyes of sorrow
The lips in a grimace of the fatal farewell
The throat dry with broken tears
And a withered flower from this farewell

My heart is heavy, my soul is weary
My body aches, my spirit is dreary

There in the distant sleeping places
A prayer murmurs in the sacred forest
And in vain to its waters in search of forgetfulness
I sang the nostalgia of my homeland

I asked its current to take far away
This love of fire, hellish and relentless
Now all that remains of my old dream
Is the crazy sadness and your absence

My heart is heavy, my soul is weary
My body aches, my spirit is dreary

A sad pilgrim, sick and thirsty
Soul shattered by the thorns
Carrying my pain, my song to the wind
I seek refuge for my homeland

A good embrace full of comfort
A wise embrace for the lonely
To calm suddenly my deep desires
And my eternal thirst for a good beloved

Oh, God of the skies! Listen to me
In my loneliness, come and console me
