Tardes Asuncenas
Carlos Cacavelos
Afternoon in Asunción
I evoke in the distance your sunset light
The magical silence that I idolized so much
The shadow of your streets dressing my loves
There next to the beloved that I will never forget
I don't know if that corner of my neighborhood still exists
Where in the past I waited for the queen of my love
Beautiful memory scented with jasmine
And lit by the kiss that the sun gave her as it left
The clouds of that sky may have already gone
Tired of not finding us very close like yesterday
And perhaps if the breeze brings them here in my sky
They will tell that the desire in your soul has not died
I imagine you in the distance waiting for my arrival
And in your black hair, a mignonette flower
Beautiful afternoons in Asunción, I sense they will hear me
And in a chest of silence, I will keep my girlfriend
