El Salustiano

El Salustiano
Even to a town in Germany has arrived Salustiano
with over forty years
and his profession the field,
to earn his living
and save some marks
so that his wife
can buy some pigs.
I don't think the hat will be theirs in the raffle
to those well-dressed guys who live off nothing.
They steal it, they steal it,
with a few fancy words they steal it.
At first it's tough, especially in the sun,
those people chatting, you can't understand a thing.
Thank goodness that sometimes the cultural embassy
sends them Julio Iglesias and a certain Manolo Escobar.
I don't think the hat will be theirs in the raffle
to those well-dressed guys who live off nothing.
They steal it, they steal it,
with a few fancy words they steal it.
And so ends the story of good old Salustiano
after working his bones so hard, another rooster has crowed.
Rooster says the worker is fed up with jokes,
if he hadn't gone to Germany,
he wouldn't have learned so much.
I don't think the hat
will be theirs in the raffle
to those well-dressed guys who live off nothing.
They steal it, they steal it,
with a few fancy words they steal it.
