Chacarera Del Bombisto
Carlos Carabajal
Chacarera of the Bombisto
From the heart of the mountain
I come to sing chacareras
Beating strong on the drum
Raising dust
Playing I'm simple
I sing to them from time to time
And for free I pretend to be deaf
When they are praising me
The ushutas jumped
To an old man tap dancing
His ankles to the noise
He kept dancing anyway
A bombisto from Santiago
In my poverty I have
And to cheer the souls up
From the salamanca I come
They saw him coming beating
Near Monte Quemado
The devil riding a donkey
By the coast of the Salado
An old lady in Clodomira
Was baking empanadas
Accidentally stepped on a coal
And started tap dancing
She ate prickly pear with cheese
Don't scold her
She went into the woods
Didn't come back all night
A bombisto from Santiago
In my poverty I have
And to cheer the souls up
From the salamanca I come
