Cobardía
Carlos Gardel
Cowardice
I don't know what harm I've done
to deserve this unbearable chain of pain
that when I don't kiss you I can't breathe
and I feel like your lips suffocate me when kissing.
From suffering so much I lost my dignity
and I don't care to know that you deceive me.
Can't you see I need you? I want to see you.
Talk to me like you always do. Say you love me.
I know it's a lie
everything you're saying,
that I'm in your life
just a regret.
I know it's a shame
that you lie to not kill me
I know, and yet
without that lie I can't live.
Just last night I was able to confirm
that you don't even respect the door of this house,
I saw with my own eyes the kisses you gave
and heard them laughing, mocking the two of us.
Humbly, however, as you can see
I ask you: Do you still love me?
And closing my eyes I hear you swear
that you never cheated on me, that you won't forget me...
