Confesion
Carlos Gardel
Confession
It was with pure conscience,
that I lost your love,
only to save you;
today you hate me and I'm happy,
I corner myself to cry for you.
The memory you will have of me,
will be horrifying,
you will always see me hitting you,
like a villain;
and if you knew well, how generous,
it was to pay like this,
your great love.-
Sun of my life,
I was a failure;
and in my fall,
I tried to push you aside.
Because I loved you so much,
so much, that in falling;
to save you,
I only knew how to make myself hated.-
Today after a horrendous year,
I saw you pass by;
I bit my tongue to not call you,
you were beautiful like a sun,
people stopped to look at you;
I don't know if the one who has you like this,
deserves it,
I only know that the cruel misery,
that I offered you,
justifies me seeing you as a queen,
who will live better,
far from me.-
Sun of my life,
I was a failure,
and in my fall,
I tried to leave you aside,
because I loved you so much,
so much that in falling,
to save you,
I only knew how to make myself hated.
