La Mentirosa
Carlos Gardel
The Liar
How much I loved you, I can say
that never to another woman,
will I love like I loved you.
Youth will never return
and to ambition I can now say goodbye.
What a time that was,
fleeting hour that passed,
I experienced all the value of a passion.
How many happy love phrases I heard,
that I always, submissive and faithful, believed in you.
The caresses of your hands,
your words of tenderness,
left a cruel bitterness,
because nothing was true.
False kisses from your mouth, promises, illusions,
killed my ambitions, without a bit of mercy.
But, for the wrong you did to me,
only my sad soul says,
liar,
liar.
Everything you made me go through,
sorrows, tears, you will pay with another.
You will find someone who will fake love
and then yes, you will want without lying,
you will be the one who will cry in the end.
You will always remember me when suffering,
your heart will bleed when thinking,
about all the harm you did to my illusion
and even in death, even in death, you will see
the eyes of the ghost of your betrayal.
But, for the wrong you did to me,
only my sad soul says,
liar,
liar.
Everything you made me go through,
sorrows, tears, you will pay with another.
