Yo Vi Llorar Al Doctor
Carlos Ramón Fernandez
I Saw the Doctor Cry
On any given afternoon
Maybe in the spring
When I met a man
In the city of Olavarria
It was precisely that day
I saw the doctor cry
Precisely while attending to me
It was someone who called
The professional on the phone
A woman speaking to him
Sadly telling him
That her husband had passed away
But she thanked him
For what he did day by day
For the man she loved
And that thanks to his surgery
Many years of happiness
He shared by his side
The doctor who simply
Showing to be very strong
Said it's my duty
I realized he was pretending
And deep down he felt
A profound emotion
I, who had that image
Maybe like so many others
Of the doctor and his profession
Who I saw so strong
That sometimes even death
Doesn't make them shed a tear
I realized that day
That not everything is joy
That profession is tough
That even though it's not seen on the outside
When crossing that border
There's a heart inside
Thank you, Dr. Bebilacua
So many surgeons
Will there be someone like you, sir
I was moved by your tears
The flag of my song
I have raised in your honor
But at a certain moment
He got up from my side
Just saying... Sorry!
And with noticeable pain
He went to the corner of the office
I saw the doctor cry
