Jalisco Park

Carlos Varela Carlos Varela

Jalisco Park

Every Sunday I used to go to the city
And chocolates to go climbing
The roller coaster, the North Star
The crazy cars, a whole metal paradise

I went to the lagoon to sail
With the little boats in the same place
Magicians and clowns, a desire to fly
With the airplanes of Jalisco Park

Everything was spinning like the carousel
And all my friends spinning with it

And I spent my childhood in that corner
In the machines looking for a reason
That's why life only taught me
Through the park what happened to us

They tried to derail the roller coaster
With all the slanders of parental authority
Then my little friend's father took him
To ride the little boat and never came back

Everything was spinning like the carousel
And all his friends wept for him

One day playing I didn't know why
In '67 they killed Che
So his story turned like the carousel
And the dreamt idea of being like him

Then the long hair, the fashion and the confusion
We arrived in '70 with the dream of a million
That's how that crazy one emerged that no one understood at first
Saying strange things like in that song:
"the era is giving birth to a heart
It can't take it anymore, it's dying of pain"

Time has passed and only dead machines remain spinning
And although I wasn't a clown, magician, or aviator
I keep spinning without thinking who I am

And so I have enemies who want to derail me
Waging war on me because I started to sing
But I put history above their reason
And I know with what songs I want to make a revolution
Even if I lose my voice, even if they don't come to listen to me
Even if they leave me alone, like Jalisco Park
