The Crows
If Christ was unjustly crucified by the raging mob
What can I expect, a poor sinner, from the ungrateful who hurt us?
Today I feel once again that kindness is never repaid with honesty
That’s the reality: Slander is the evil that all the ungrateful leave behind
Today I feel once again that kindness is never repaid with honesty
That’s the reality: Slander is the evil that all the ungrateful leave behind
I gathered many dirty crows, starving, with no faith or hope
I showered them with my trust and gave them fortune for believing in them
Today the crows have taken my eyes that once looked at them with pity
The bad crows they are, cursed to be false and ungrateful
The crows have taken my eyes that once looked at them with pity
That’s the reality: The one who does good only receives harm
I gathered many dirty crows, starving, with no faith or hope
I showered them with my trust and gave them fortune for believing in them
Today the crows have taken my eyes that once looked at them with pity
The bad crows they are, cursed to be false and ungrateful
The crows have taken my eyes that once looked at them with pity
That’s the reality: The one who does good only receives harm
