I devoutly adore you, hidden Deity
Who beneath these figures truly lies hidden
To you my heart submits itself completely
Because contemplating you, it completely fails
Sight, touch, taste are all deceived in you
But only hearing is safely believed
I believe whatever the Son of God has said
Nothing is more true than this word of Truth
On the cross only the Deity was hidden
But here is hidden both the Deity and humanity
