Have mercy on me, O God
According to your great mercy
And according to the abundance of your compassion
Blot out my iniquity

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity
And cleanse me from my sin
For I know my iniquity
And my sin is always before me

Against you alone have I sinned, and done evil in your sight
That you may be justified in your words, and may overcome when you are judged
Behold, I was conceived in iniquity
And in sin my mother conceived me

Behold, you have loved truth
The uncertain and hidden things of your wisdom you have revealed to me
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow

You will give joy and gladness to my hearing
And the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice
Turn your face away from my sins
And blot out all my iniquities

Create a clean heart in me, O God
And renew a right spirit within me
Do not cast me away from your presence
And do not take your Holy Spirit from me

Restore to me the joy of your salvation
And strengthen me with a willing spirit
I will teach the wicked your ways
And sinners will turn to you

Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation
And my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness
O Lord, open my lips
And my mouth will declare your praise

For if you desired sacrifice, I would have given it
You do not delight in burnt offerings
The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit
A broken and humbled heart, O God, you will not despise

Do good in your good pleasure to Zion, O Lord
May the walls of Jerusalem be built up
Then you will accept the sacrifice of righteousness, offerings, and burnt offerings
Then they will offer calves on your altar
