O Redemptor Sume Carmen (latim)
Músicas Católicas
The Redeemer Takes the Song (Latin)
O Redeemer, take the song
Of those who sing to you.
Tree, fruitful with holy light,
Has brought forth this sacred thing,
This present crowd, inclined,
To the Savior of the world.
Deign to consecrate,
King of eternal homeland,
This olive tree, living sign,
Against the rights of demons.
That every sex may be renewed
By the anointing of Chrism:
That the wounded glory of dignity may be healed.
With a cleansed mind from the sacred font,
Crimes are driven away,
With a sacredly anointed forehead,
Graces flow in.
Born from the heart of the Father,
Filling the womb of the Virgin,
Grant light, close death
To the companions of Chrism.
May this day be festive for us,
For ages of ages,
May it be sacred, worthy of praise,
And may it not grow old with time.
