Oriente Es de Otro Color
Cecilia Todd
The East is of Another Color
The East is the land where the sun rises earliest
And by six o'clock the countrymen are returning from the sea
Happy because the fishing boat comes loaded with fish
And a bird acts as the national guardian
In the East, my brother, the sea has a different color
And the sun's yellow is somewhat saffron
The air is lighter and the moon is a flower
That perfumes with love those who are in love
That's why I carry the East wedged in my heart
On the beach, the women, good-looking and smiling
Do decent antics to lower the price
One horse mackerel, two corocoros, and a beautiful Catalan
Thus begins the morning, under a unique sky
In the East, my brother, the sea has a different color
And the sun's yellow is somewhat saffron
The air is lighter and the moon is a flower
That perfumes with love those who are in love
That's why I carry the East wedged in my heart
