O Que Virá?
Cecilia
What Will Come?
I wish it was today
So I could look up at the sky
And start a countdown
I could barely answer
These questions weighing on my shoulders
And what is the weight after all?
It's wanting to control every step
And not fooling oneself
Some people doubt God's kindness
And laugh to disguise it
And ignore the end
Sometimes I take the throne, the place of a God
Who loves and will return
Despite the little faith
That can be found
When He comes back, when He comes back
At the last minute I never admitted
Wine to get drunk
Gold to dazzle
In insecurity I pretended
To be so happy
Even falling for so many false promises
And where will the strength I lack come from?
If many times I've already given up
The novelty doesn't satisfy me
They want to exchange my God for any advice
Is it just me who isn't so satisfied
With what will come as a solution
In the next season?
And salvation is just the beginning and the sign
Of a path that crowns the righteous
And how will I, so imperfect, find
The Creator on every street?
Some people doubt God's kindness
And laugh to disguise it
And ignore the end
Sometimes I take the throne, the place of a God
Who loves and will return
Despite the little faith
That can be found
When He comes back, when He comes back
