Un Año Más
Chanel
One More Year
At the Puerta del Sol like the year that passed
Once again the champagne and grapes
And the carpet tar
The firecrackers that erase sounds from yesterday
And heat up the spirits to accept
That another year has passed
And in the old clock like year after year
Five more minutes for the countdown
We take stock of the good and bad
Five minutes before the countdown
Sailors, soldiers, singles, married
Lovers, wanderers, and some
Clueless priests
Amidst shouts and whistles, us Spaniards
Tall, short, we do for once
One thing at a time
And in the old clock like year after year
Five more minutes for the countdown
We take stock of the good and bad
Five minutes before the countdown
And although there are some new faces for the grapes
We will miss those who are no longer here
And let's see if we wake up those of us who are alive
And in the coming year we laugh
One, two, three, and four
And it starts again
The fifth is one and the sixth is two
And so the seventh is three
And we say goodbye and ask God
That in the coming year
Instead of one million
It could be two
At the Puerta del Sol like the year that passed
Once again the champagne and grapes
And the carpet tar
