I drink to forget my years of misfortune
And this common life

I drink to give myself the illusion that I exist
Since too selfish

And I toast to the hell that imposes itself in my liver
In a bouquet of cirrhosis
That I water while drinking

I drink to our ambiguous, diabolical loves
Often tragicomic
Our silences of death

To our failed, petty and pitiful union
To your insatiable body
Rolling from bed to bed
To this oath, sworn with a hand on the Bible
To your barren womb
That never bore fruit

I drink to escape my tasteless life
I drink until suicide
Disgust and torpor
I drink to get drunk and vomit my principles
Freeing from my guts
What I have on my mind

To the aborted happiness, to me, to my accomplices
To you, all fire, all sex
To your many lovers
To my bloated skin, streaked with rosacea
And to menopause
Lurking around the corner

I drink to the blessed laws of married life
Which out of fear of scandal
Push to pretend
I drink to the dregs of meager embraces
To exemplary whores
To cold couplings

To the best of life that leaves us in tatters
To that cellulite
Which your body is adorned with
To the duty fulfilled like two automatons
To prostate troubles
That I will have sooner or later

I drink until I burst and little by little I die
As my dreams died
When love betrayed me
I drink to damn my liver like a sponge
Because the evil that gnaws at me
Is the evil of forgetting

I get drunk especially to better drown my sorrow
And ward off the hatred
That we are prey to
And I drink like a hole that is in every way similar
To the one that the devil
Makes you dig for me

A little out of habit
