Sin Lágrimas
Charlo
Without Tears
You don’t know how much I’ve loved you,
How can you deny you were mine;
And yet you’ve asked me
To let you go, to leave,
To drown you in forgetfulness.
You see, my eyes haven’t cried,
What’s the point in crying over what I’ve lost;
But in my shattered chest...
Without a heartbeat, torn apart,
My heart is dying.
Now that my love is so deep,
Now, I’m left alone in this world;
What does it matter that I’m dying and no one comes
To cover these remains, what do I care
About life! If my life is in your eyes.
Now that I feel the cold of death,
Now that my eyes won’t see you...
What does it matter if someone else has your charms,
If I know that no one can ever love you
As much, much as I loved you.
I can’t blame you for anything
If I found in your love the faith I lost;
With the warmth of your gaze
You gave strength to my life,
Poor, shattered life.
And, even though my eyes haven’t cried,
Today, I’ve prayed to God...
That if other lips have kissed you,
And in kissing you have hurt you,
That you don’t suffer like I do.
