Plateado Sobre Plateado (Huellas En El Mar)
Charly García
Silver on Silver (Footprints in the Sea)
I saw the Moon dripping incessantly its cathedral light
And an old ship crossing the sea from South America to Europe
On a mirror full of salt
Airplanes cutting through the cellophane of a tropical sky
Opening furrows to take towards exile, the return
To those who couldn't bear it anymore
Footprints in the sea
Blood in our home
Why do we have to go so far to be here?
To be here?
We stayed out of faith, we left out of love
We gained something and something was lost; some children are parents
And some footprints are already the skin
Footprints in the sea
Blood in our home
Why do we have to go so far to be here?
To be here?
