Metti Una Sera a Cena
Chiara Civello
Put an Evening at Dinner
When by chance in a single moment
We look at each other indifferently and
We think deep down about what we are
When suddenly we find again
All those moments we must remember
To be able to love each other
We will understand what it really means
To stay for hours in silence
Held tight as if to die
And then we will realize that the past
The past has been what it was
But what will tomorrow be?
Put an evening
Like every evening
That we have dinner
Just the two of us
But we suddenly open our eyes
On our faces
There is nothing left
When by chance in a single moment
We look at each other indifferently and
We think deep down about what we are
When suddenly we find again
All those moments we must remember
To be able to love each other
We will understand what it really means
To stay for hours in silence
Held tight as if to die
And then we will realize that the past
The past has been what it was
But what will tomorrow be?
Put an evening
Like every evening
That we have dinner
Just the two of us
But we suddenly open our eyes
On our faces
There is nothing left
