Iemanjá
Chimarruts
Iemanjá
Today reggae hits hard in my head
Like the wind hits hard on the coast
And hearing the waves is like the guitar beat
Or like the touch of my berimbau
And the stars are my cry of joy
And euphoria when it's carnival day
So I dance with my people and my mind spins
Because joy has to take over the place
I am full of wickedness and I want fantasy
Because I am a son of Ogum and mother Iemanjá
Iemanjá comes to wash our faith
And Ogum father of the Sun
Illuminate my path, I want to travel
For today I want to travel beyond the sky
Where there are no borders to stop me
I want to climb the stars and from there see the sea
See the smile of the free child playing
And I will plant a seed in your heart
To harvest in the future a new nation
Inequalities and injustices will end
Because I am a son of Ogum and mother Iemanjá
