Poet's Works (The Little Birds)
The little birds adorn the gardens and forests
They are like melodies, living in the soul of poets
Any kind of song, country or popular
Serves as inspiration as a theme or to rhyme
The forest builder builds his building on the silk-cotton tree
And the maestro Thrush performs his show on the orange tree
In the canopy of a pine tree, the Great Kiskadee sings joyfully
In the afternoon in the scrubland, the Ruddy Quail-Dove sings sadly
When I hear a gunshot, I feel sorry
Knowing that a Rufous-bellied Thrush is dying in the straw
When a wicked Hawk comes quietly
Attacking mercilessly, leaving the Canary widowed
In the orchard, beautiful wings in various colors
In a constant back and forth of the little Hummingbirds
In the mill, the Rufous-collared Sparrow fills its crop with cornmeal
And the messenger Dove flew away to never return
