A Solas Con La Botella
Christian Nodal
Alone with the Bottle
Who will roam my skin and fill
The emptiness you left behind? Who will dare to love me?
If they ask, I’m doing fine, but it’s just for show
The smile I wear today is one of sadness and loneliness.
I don’t know if I should leave it to time
I don’t even trust my own shadow anymore
Only a few will understand me.
Even my mind betrays me
When, at last, my heart
Feels close to forgetting.
And talking alone
With the bottle, I’ve come to think
Why do I still keep a spot for you
If you’re so far from wanting me near?
And talking alone
With the bottle, I’ve come to think
If I lose my pride and go looking for you
Drunk, and I cry
Because I know damn well that sober
I won’t forgive myself.
I don’t know if I should leave it to time
I don’t even trust my own shadow anymore
Only a few will understand me.
Even my mind betrays me
When, at last, my heart
Feels close to forgetting.
And talking alone
With the bottle, I’ve come to think
Why do I still keep a spot for you
If you’re so far from wanting me near?
And talking alone
With the bottle, I’ve come to think
If I lose my pride and go looking for you
Drunk, and I cry
Because I know damn well that sober
I won’t forgive myself.
