O Bom Pastor
Cicero Nogueira
The Good Shepherd
The good shepherd who guides his flock
To the green pastures that are blooming
Watching out for the wolf that lurks
When the sheep move further ahead
The good shepherd contemplates the little lamb
He also sees the old and thin sheep
He doesn't seek them for wool or milk
But for the love he has for the sheep
The hired hand, the stranger, doesn't do this
The one who didn't buy the sheep doesn't do this
Only the shepherd knows how to feel for his flock
Because He knows how much pain it cost Him
The good shepherd who takes care of the sheep
Cares even more for the sick one
He has a gesture, a tenderness for all
Because all the sheep are the same
And he goes to find the weak one who strayed
Who got lost from the flock yesterday
And with love in his arms, he patiently
Takes the poor thing back to the fold
