El Corrido Del Hombre

The Ballad of the Man
The life of a poor man is very sad
When there's hunger and you have no food
Only the blessing of a mother
Who takes care of you day and night
The lullaby of a humble father
Who always gives his life for his son
Time passes, the years are seen
And the young rooster has already grown spurs
Enduring the sun's rays
To support his parents
With his face soaked in sweat
With the dream of one day succeeding
I traveled paths and roads
Through the mountains of all Durango
The little ranch where I was born
And grew up with my siblings
So much time of so much suffering
We must make up for past times
He has earned respect
Because he is an upright and honest man
And known in other places
But always mindful of his parents
Wherever the man stands
He has friends who will not fail him
As in every ballad sung
And a saying repeated by all
He who sows one day reaps
Very smiling, he said to his brothers
I'm not rich but I live well
And we must toast as we stroll
I traveled paths and roads
Through the mountains of all Durango
From here goes a greeting sir
To his children, wife, and siblings
To his parents and the ranch that saw
When he walked barefoot
