Azzurro
Paolo Conte
Blue
I look for summer all year round
And suddenly here it is...
She left for the beaches
I'm alone down here in the city,
I hear whistling above the roofs
An airplane flying away.
Blue
The afternoon is too blue, and long for me,
I realize I have no more resources
Without you, and then
I almost take the train and come, come to you,
But the train of desires, in my thoughts, goes the other way.
It seems like when I was at the oratory
With so much sun, many years ago...
Those Sundays alone
Walking in a courtyard...
Now I'm more bored than back then
Not even a priest to chat with...
Blue
The afternoon is too blue, and long for me,
I realize I have no more resources
Without you, and then
I almost take the train and come, come to you,
But the train of desires, in my thoughts, goes the other way.
I look for a bit of Africa in the garden
Between the Oleander and the Baobab,
As I used to do as a child,
But there are people here, you can't anymore
They're watering your roses,
There's no lion, who knows where it is...
Blue...
