Corrido Nueve Años Se Cumplieron

Corridos Mexicanos Corridos Mexicanos

Nine Years Have Passed Corrido

Nine years have passed since the revolution
And the beloved homeland didn't know what to do
All the treaties were just flattery
And for the Mexican to suffer and endure

I'm going to talk about the government of Don Porfirio Díaz
Who was more conscious in the persecution
When he fiercely pursued the Maderistas
He treated the towns with consideration

When forces of Mr. Díaz arrived in towns
They would ask for the authority
They only inquired about the great rebellion
That was happening in the hills with the aim to fight

Seeing that Don Porfirio wouldn't win
He arranged the armistice, suspended the war
Madero with his troops entered the capital
And there the government was at his disposal

Then that president of Mexico left
For old Europe, he made his embarkation
He left the poor homeland in cruel suffering
Flooded with blood, oh what compassion!

Then the war continued with Francisco I. Madero
Against other leaders who didn't want to surrender
He went, descended with troops to Cuautla de Morelos
To see if in a conference they could come to an agreement

But Zapata and other leaders didn't succumb
To the orders that Francisco I. Madero brought
And they remained defiant
Throughout the state named Morelos

When Mr. Naranjo took power
Becoming a great governor in Cuernavaca
He sent Juvencio Robles who became feared
Burning many towns with great rigor

When the Naranjistas forces arrived in towns
The peaceful fled to escape
They named the whole state Zapatista
And for that reason, they wanted to destroy it

And the year twelve went by for the Plan of Morelos
There was no justice, peace, or freedom
The squads and towns complained to the sky
Only the Naranjistas brought authority

Finally, Francisco I. Madero's time came
He didn't even think about his agony
In nineteen thirteen, in the month of February
With Huerta and Mondragón, Blanquel and Félix Díaz

The beautiful capital dressed in mourning
Because that cruel war was very fearsome
And when they took the main palace
General Blanquel captured Madero

Then the Maderista party ended
And Huerta took over the presidency
The Huertista government also set fire to towns
History labels him as a tyrant and traitor

Many pray for him, if he is now at rest
According to the forcefulness of how he treated us
May Lucifer have him, at least in gentle fire
For the cruel fires and levies he invented

These are pages of blood, mourning, and sadness
That will be seen in history with great admiration
Speaking of tyrants like Mr. Huerta
That Juvencio Robles, Villegas, and Cartón

What the towns want are good guarantees
That the legal code be judged arranged
Fulfilling their laws would be greatly appreciated
Respecting the right will bring peace

Oh, if Mr. Benito Juárez were to resurrect
And saw our homeland in such a cruel situation!
Only he would save it from all evils
And the laws of the constitution would rule

In the end, beloved homeland, when will it end
The fratricidal wars that your nation suffers?
Honorable towns already desire tranquility
Because they are tired of the revolution
