The Answer
You are that bullet I needed
You are the answer I never sought
You are that poison that does me so much good
No matter how many nights may pass
In vain throughout the city
I could go around, but not be well
And I wondered
If I didn't ask if it's okay to feel bad
And not being able to socialize
With others, is more than bad
Not being able to quit smoking
I hate not hating you, and seeing you so happy
In my dark days coloring without you
Why sailing in your dreams is no longer for me
The storm is approaching and I don't know how to escape
I left the door open and the key in the garden
Your timeless return, or was it just a slip
If you find my demons, ask for me
I already told them our story, they will wait for you
You are that bullet I needed
You are the answer I never sought
You are that poison that does me so much good
You are the storm that reveals the rainbow
The insecticide that protects my garden
Why if it weren't for you
I wouldn't know what's wrong with me
I want to write a book about how not to love
And I'll put your name as the title
Because I know you invented another personality
To gain a little fame
And I know that mistakes are learned from
Thanks to you I have an IQ of over 160
You taught me how it feels for someone to be more damaged than you
And I swear I don't hold a grudge against you
Today and always I wish you the best
But, don't come near me, don't come near me
I already learned the lesson
I just ask heaven to let me improve
And little by little put things in their place
Because I'm tired of reality
And now fiction has become my best ally
That's where you are
That's where you are
The mark you left will be permanent
I carry your name in indelible ink
You are that bullet I needed
You are the answer I never sought
You are that poison that does me so much good
You are the storm that reveals the rainbow
The insecticide that protects my garden
Why if it weren't for you
I wouldn't know what's wrong with me
