Confissões de um Preso

Confessions of a Prisoner
I'm here in a prison cell
The loneliness is deep
I'm far from my home
Because once I erred against society
I played with freedom
And today I have to pay
But on a sad and bitter day
I turned on my radio
And heard a song that spoke
That Jesus loved me so much
And wiped away my tears
Even inside the prison
Today I am free
I am truly free
I found freedom
In that blood on the cross
And it doesn't matter if I'm behind bars
I have happiness
Because I accepted Jesus
Where I live there are walls all around
I'm surrounded by sadness, my heart cries
I feel like telling the whole world
That the true path
Is Jesus, the salvation
At that moment, heaven has compassion on me
Jesus comes and appears and he cries with me
And tells me: Son, I love you so much
I have a place of peace
Called New Zion
Today I am free
I am truly free
I found freedom
In that blood on the cross
And it doesn't matter if I'm behind bars
I have happiness
Because I accepted Jesus
All my friends abandoned me
The parties ended
It was all just an illusion
Because when I needed them the most
I found no friend to lend me a hand
To many, I'm just a criminal
But to God, a beloved son
So much so that He forgave me
Every day Jesus comes and visits me
Because He believes in me
And gave me salvation
Today I am free
I am truly free
I found freedom
In that blood on the cross
And it doesn't matter if I'm behind bars
I have happiness
Because I accepted Jesus
