The Bad One

He was the bad one, the damn one, a wicked, ill-mannered bully
The unhealthy evil, malignant, thug, he was evil incarnate
Ill-bred, ill-intentioned, malicious bastard
I love you

How could I not love you, if you came to my rescue
But let me go ahead and tell the story from the beginning
He was born in a town inland, baptized in Cachapoal
As a child, he already showed his very human cruelty
Mockery always hit hard, expert at finding flaws
Friend of the strong and tormentor of the withdrawn

He was very funny, as much as he was harmful
He didn't realize, he thought, to be the model of the right man
For himself, he was a champion, an example of overcoming
The poor are poor because they want to, because they didn't want to study
And in his love life, he followed the same pattern, one woman after another
He squeezed the life out of them, they were just prey
He never wanted to give in, fearing to appear weak
If he doesn't like something, he doesn't listen, he's not pretending to be deaf, he truly doesn't listen
In the morning at the café, a shot of hot water, beer at noon
And a couple of piscos at sunset
A whiskey to navigate, to force a conquest
A friend's ex-wife, if she wanted it in the end

He was the bad one, the damn one, a wicked, ill-mannered bully
The unhealthy evil, malignant, thug, he was evil incarnate
Ill-bred, ill-intentioned, malicious bastard
I love you

The bids, of which he boasted
Were previously arranged, the world belongs to the smart ones, he laughed
He hated his younger brother, despised his sister
And the whole family was stupid, everyone except him
He bought a big truck, always flirted with the neighbor
Behind the windshield, he was spreading obscenities

He strongly supported a right-wing candidate, who promised him advantages
In what was convenient for him
It was on a winter night, coming back from a meeting
Driving drunk, he fell asleep and crashed into a Vitara
Killed the driver instantly, left one in the back paralyzed
And he decapitated himself with the fake leather steering wheel

He descended to hell, after a swift trial
Fate had it that he entered the section where I worked
At first, I punished him, as it was my duty
But he was such a lovable guy, still so full of life
You can tear off my skin, he said, I can endure my castration
but what I've eaten and danced, tell me who can take it away

He was the bad one, the damn one, a wicked, ill-mannered bully
The unhealthy evil, malignant, thug, he was evil incarnate
Ill-bred, ill-intentioned, malicious bastard
I love you

How could I not love you if you always had timely advice
How could I not look at you, you had passion and fire in your eyes
How could I not follow the one who finally sees the clear picture
I let him go, I protected him, I spread the word
The rest was done by the discontent that the millennium gathered
Oh no, indeed, it was a time bomb
Fire ignites with wind
The rebellion spread and nothing could stop it
It rolled, rolled, rolled, rolled, rolled, rolled like a pearl
There's a new devil in hell and tonight we celebrate

He was the bad one, the damn one, a wicked, ill-mannered bully
The unhealthy evil, malignant, thug, he was evil incarnate
Ill-bred, ill-intentioned, malicious bastard
I love you
