The Sunny Side of the Street

I walk on the sunny side of the street
I don't stray from my path looking at the details
And finding myself on that side is not surprising
Because my mother used to tell me: 'child, walk in the shade'.

I walk without hurry and the sun is hot
I don't care if they shout at me or call me from the front
Watching me and pointing fingers
And I turn my head and pretend I don't see them.

But that behavior doesn't bother me
I've been on that side and I can understand...

I walk while carrying my story in my backpack
And sometimes I can't see with so much dazzling light
And if I don't want them to discover that I'm pensive
I put on my black glasses and immerse myself in my world.

I choose a song and play it
And turn up the volume in my headphones...

And even though I'm not afraid to go, or to return
I know I don't want to cross back
The line is there, I can feel it
But the sun shines on my face and it's fine like this.

I know where I am, I know where I'm going
But I recognize how weak I am
Better not to insist on reliving
In places where one has been happy.

I walk on the sunny side of the street
And I hope this time my intuition doesn't fail me
And sometimes I glance at the shadowy side
But it's better not to look too much or I'll deviate.

But even if those who know tell me not to
I know very well that the dark side of the sun exists...

No, no, no, no, no, no...
