Cuando Era Changuito
Cuti Carabajal
When I Was a Little Kid
When I was a little kid, sometimes I just liked to roam
Through the streets of my town with nothing in particular to show
Exploring side to side, just out of curiosity
Maybe searching for a dream awake in reality
In those harsh winters, I used to gather firewood
Many times I felt the cold, but it’s just a memory now
The kids from my hometown know how to sing and dance
They’re the pride of my place, of our Santiago roots
How many times during the day I’d sneak away for a bit
For some little mischief, nothing special in the end
Like the life of a kid, my life was just the same
With hopes and dreams so few, hardly worth a mention
Lonely, I imagined being someone beyond this
But everything faded away like childhood as it passed
The kids from my hometown know how to sing and dance
They’re the pride of my place, of our Santiago roots
