Mi Retrato
Dalila
My Portrait
I wake up in your photograph
I wake up and there you are
In the same place and every day
The same look, the same ray of light.
The color is not the same as before
Your smile almost faded
And even if you're not clear, I invent you
In my thoughts and in my heart.
Nobody has a pact with time
Nor with forgetfulness and pain,
If you disappear, I find you
In the same corner of my room.
Every passing day I think of you and look at you again
Everything in its place, past, present
In the dust my fingers come together and I want to have you
Changing with me...
Then I look at your photo and the time and the years
If you speak to me from afar, try to warn me early
And thus control myself.
I wake up in your photograph
Every day I invent an attitude
And even if the black and white is not noticeable
I don't despair, I use my imagination.
Nobody has a pact with time
Nor with the dew of the flower
If you disappear, I find you
In the same corner of my room.
Every passing day I think of you and look at you again
Everything in its place, past, present
In the dust my fingers come together and I want to have you
Changing with me.
Then I look at your photo and the time and the years
If you speak to me from afar, try to warn me early
And thus imagine... that I have you here...
