Na Mesa do Rei
Damares
At the King's Table
They said I wouldn't make it
They said my dreams ended there
When my feet were broken
They mocked me, criticized me
They sent me to the land of Lo-debar
A land called forgetfulness
And in that place I stayed alone
Humiliated, abandoned
But in my heart there was hope
The King promised not to forget me
I know that day will come and the King's chariot
I will see entering the city, to fetch me
I will sit at the King's table
I will eat at the King's table
And all who humiliated me will see me there
And they will have to know that I was invited, yes
I will receive the lands I lost
And all the treasures my father left
When he had to fight in battle
And his life was taken
That's how it is when God promises
Time may pass, but He doesn't forget you
But in my heart there was hope
The King promised not to forget me
I know that day will come and the King's chariot
I will see entering the city to fetch me
I will sit at the King's table
I will eat at the King's table
And all who humiliated me will see me there
And they will have to know that I was invited, yes
I will receive the lands I lost
And all the treasures my father left
When he had to fight in battle
And his life was taken
That's how it is when God promises
