La Carta
Daniel El Travieso
The Letter
I wanted the pencil to speak for me today
And tell me what I feel
I put to the test the gift of poet that I acquired
What I write here is true
In the letter I left, which says
Hello, baby, how are you?
It's been a few Decembers without your love
I never imagined this ending
But I couldn't struggle with time
I know you had to leave
But I will never forget
Your kisses, caresses under the sea
Very tight hugs when you taught me to swim
Events that I will never forget
You left a void that no one has been able to fill
Only you, only you
Without you, I'm New York without the twin towers
A hungry child, looking for his grandmother, my love
Without you, I'm a sailboat that has broken its sails
Perhaps a sailor frozen by the cold
Alone, I wish I could turn back time
Every day I wonder why I can't forget you
If others call me, and you sound in my ear
Could it be that some reunion our lives have in store?
You are the siren that runs through my veins
I know you had to leave
But I will never forget
Your kisses, caresses under the sea
Very tight hugs when you taught me to swim
Events that I will never forget
You left a void that no one has been able to fill
Only you, only you
