I lived in the forest very happily,
I walked and walked without stopping,
the mornings and afternoons were mine,
at night I lay down to rest,
but one day the man came with his cages,
he locked me up and took me to the city,
in the circus they taught me acrobatics
and that's how I lost my beloved freedom.
"Be content" - an old tiger told me -
never lack roof and food,
they only demand that we do acrobatics,
so we can bring joy to the kids.
Four years have passed in this life,
with the circus I traveled the world like this,
but I could never forget everything,
my forests, my afternoons, nor myself.
In a distant little town, someone didn't close the lock,
on a moonless night, and I left the city.
Now I step on the ground of my forest,
once again the green of freedom, I am old,
but the afternoons are mine, I return to the forest,
I am truly happy.
